강도, 강성도, 용융 온도가 폴리에틸렌보다 더 높은 반결정성 열가소성 중합체. 극성 원자단이 없기 때문에 사실상 비처리 PP에 대한 모든 코팅의 점착력이 떨어진다. PP에 대한 대다수 코팅의 점착력은 대체로 산소를 공정 가스로 이용하는 플라즈마 처리에 의해 크게 향상시킬 수 있다.

Due to the lack of polar groups poor adhesion of virtually all coatings on untreated PP. The adhesion of most coatings on PP can be substantially improved by plasma treatment, usually employing oxygen as process gas.
